On we go,
[BMW dealership Las-Vegas]
The day has finally come to leave LasVegas and start my road trip but before I could get on the road I needed to pick my bike from the local bmw dealership, getting there with Lior the bike was already waiting outside for me, filling up a couple of forms (regular paper work) and that’s it I've got this babe for the next 41 days, drop off New York.
[R1200RT]
Couple words on the bike are in order, well after a short investigation I've decided to rent the R1200RT a pure touring motorcycle, this huge bike is make for miles, the sitting position is very comfortable, the sit is wide there plenty of space for two riders, although after an hour ride your "behind" starts to go numb, I'm not sure if this is because I've got a completely new bike so the seat hasn't soften just yet, so yeah I've got the brand new 2011 model with full luggage three cases which gives me lots of room for all my carryings. It also has Radio, heated sit and handle gripss, ABS, adjusting windshield, line-in to connect your phone to the sound system, although this bike is heavy and it isn't that fast it sure does makeup for it.[desert hot]
So after dropping my beg at UPS for shipping to NewYork, we were on our way to California, we had no idea how hot it's going to be riding through the desert felt like I'm riding inside a furnace around 40 degress this went on for around two hours once we've passed the mountains to California the temperatures started to drop. Entering California we've decided to reach SanDiego riding on the interstate number five, on our way we've decided to take a break at one of the many Plazas which is just like our home "TZOMET BILO" but much more nicer. One thing you notice quickly is that parking is not an issue around here. There is plenty of real-state to go around. Everything is clean and there's grass everywhere you look,
[Typical view]
Arriving to SanDiego took us another two hours. In total we've gone from Vegas to SanDiego which is around 515 KM, using the cruise-control sure made the ride easier, Yes I've got cruise-control on this bike! The next day we've started heading north riding the highway and the shore seeing the Pacific Ocean. We've finished our day at Orange County just below LA.
[Entrance to six-flags]
Today (11.08) we've decided to go to Six Flags to those of you not familiar (as I was) six flags is a theme park specialized in roller-coasters, the last time I got on such a ride was at least ten years back.. but I remember that everything which spins makes me feel sick, but hey I'm already here right… At first we took it easy riding the "armature" costars then we've got on a ride called Goliath which has an insane drop and some really fast turns, I could feel the G force crashing down on me in every turn. Getting off the ride with a slight headache,[roller coaster]
my mistake was to continue on to the batman ride where they strap you in with your feet dangling in the air, after going through number of loops and twists I felt like dying, sitting on a bunch for an hour waiting for the feeling to wear off we've left six flags, now don't get me wrong I did enjoy my time there and six flags is a fun place to visit I just hope I'll remember for the next time to avoid the "modern" coasters.
[Superman, no i didn't got on it]
[Waiting in line]
[The ride which killed me]
Riding from six flags to Santa Barbara we took the 101 highway the ride was really nice the view was relaxing, green hills to our right and the ocean to our left, we eventually pull over just before reaching Santa-Barbar and we're staying at a cheap motel full of Mexicans I sure hope the bikes will still be waiting for us in the morning, with this thought I'll be going to sleep.
Nice!
ReplyDeleteAwwww DUDE! how could you NOT go on the superman ride?! you get a few seconds of weightlessness at the top!
ReplyDeleteAnyhow - the picture of suburban California really makes me miss the states.
